Welcome
We put together this website to share information about our puppy Mia
and the Coton de Tulear breed in general. It seemed as though everytime we told friends or
family what kind of dog we had acquired, they'd say "what kind of dog is that?" Additionally,
we wanted a forum to share photos of Mia as she grows.
If you're searching for a small dog to add to your
family, a Coton de Tulear is an excellent choice. Our Mia is very
smart, very well tempered, she loves to play and cuddle and she
is simply adorable. We selected the Coton de Tulear breed for several
reasons: they are relatively small dogs, they have very few health
problems, they are very friendly and they are good for people with
allergies.
Le Coton de Tulear The Royal Dog of Madagascar
This content is from our breeder's website, Jomarans.
The Coton de Tulear is an extremely rare, ancient
pure-breed that originated on Madagascar more than three centuries
ago.
The Coton de Tulear stands less than a foot tall
at the shoulders, is little more than two feet long, and weighs
less than 15 pounds. They have dark, engaging eyes, black lips,
and a medium-length muzzle tipped with black nose.
There is one particular color for the Cotons, White
with champagne color patches on its ears. Coton de Tulears are hearty
dogs and, with acclimation, frolic in desert heat and winter snow.
The breed is extremely healthy, long lived and has no known genetic
defects.
